8 Theme Parks to Visit in 2025

Image Caption:

While we’re all about hitting the open road and exploring every national and state park across North America, there’s another type of park that still holds a special place in our hearts. To help you plan out your year, we went ahead and curated a list of some of our favorite theme parks for your 2025 adventures.

Disneyland

Anaheim, CA

Let’s not bury the lead. When it comes to iconic theme parks, nothing tops the pastiche of Disneyland. Since 1955, it’s been the gold standard for family-friendly entertainment and all things “Mickey Mouse”. While it’s understated compared to it’s sister-park in Orlando, Disneyland still boasts plenty of memorable rides, shows, attractions, and characters that will leave an indelible memory.

A few things to do at Disneyland.

  • Catch the fireworks show over Sleeping Beauty’s castle.
  • Save the day with Spider-Man at the Avenger’s Campus.
  • Load up on “Mickey-shaped” snacks and Dole Whip.
  • Ride the Millenium Falcon at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge.

Dollywood

Pigeon Forge, TN

A family-friendly theme park nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains named after Dolly Parton? I’m already on board. But if you need a little more convincing, Dollywood boasts world-class roller coasters and water rides, top-notch seasonal festivals, and a healthy dose of Appalachian charm.

A few things to do at Dollywood.

  • See bald eagles up close at the Eagle Mountain Sanctuary.
  • Take a deep dive and learn about Dolly’s life and career at the Chasing Rainbows MuseumThe.
  • Check out a seasonal festival including the Flower & Food Festival, Harvest Festival, and Smoky Mountain Christmas.

Magic Mountain

Moncton, NB

As the largest man-made tourist attraction in Atlantic Canada, Magic Mountain is a summertime staple if you find yourself passing through New Brunswick.

A few things to do at Magic Mountain.

  • Explore Kouchibouguac National Park.
  • Stay at Camping Panoramic.
  • Pack a picnic and visit the Bay of Fundy.

Busch Gardens

Tampa, FL

With plenty of thrilling rides, kid-friendly shows and experiences (including a Sesame Street Safari), and an emphasis on wildlife conservation, visiting Busch Gardens is a good time for a good cause. And with plenty of fantastic beaches nearby, you won’t run out of things to do.

A few suggestions.

  • Ride the Iron Gwazi and the SheiKra.
  • Take a guided safari tour through their Serengeti Safari or (Sesame Street Safari for the kiddos).
  • Check out the Animal Care Center to see the park’s conservation efforts.

Thomas Amusements

Conception Bay, NL

A locally owned and operated amusement park in Conception Bay, Thomas Amusements offers more than 15 thrilling rides and plenty of entertainment for all ages.

A few things to do in Newfoundland.

  • Take part in a Screech-In ceremony (it’s a little odd, but pretty fun).

Disney World

Orlando FL

For intents and purposes, Disney World was Walt’s ultimate vision. Featuring four iconic parks (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom) it really is an even more grandiose version of Disneyland. This nearly 25,000-acre park is a must-see for any Disney fantatic looking for the ultimate adventure.

A few things to do at Disney World.

  • Ride the Tower of Terror and the Rise of the Resistance in Hollywood Studios.
  • Travel/eat/drink around the world at EPCOT.
  • Get up close with wildlife (safely) at Animal Kingdom and visit the world of Avatar while you’re at it (Pandora).

Universal Studios

Orlando, FL

Okay, when it comes to visiting Orlando we all know you’re mostly going because of Disney, but don’t sleep on Universal Studios. Whether you’re an avid Harry Potter fan looking for a glass of butterbeer, a Simpsons junkie wanting to cruise through Springfield, or just trying to make your kids happy by spotting Minions, there’s a lot to love.

A few things to do at Universal Studios.

  • Get a wand and immerse yourself in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
  • Run from dinosaurs at Jurassic World.
  • Take the little ones to Seuss Landing and meet the Cat in the Hat.

Hersheypark

Hershey, PA

Hersheypark is about as close as you can get to a real-life Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory. Whether you’re looking for a Reese’s cup the size of your face, a classic wooden coaster (Comet), or just need to cool off at the Boardwalk water park, Hershey has everything you need to keep the family entertained.

A few things to do at Hersheypark.

  • Take a free Hershey tour and create your very own candy bar.
  • Ride Candymonium, Skyrush, and Comet.
  • Enjoy classic treats with a Hershey’s twist at the Chocolatier Restaurant.
