SylvanSport Launches New Rugged Off-Road Camping Trailer

SylvanSport—the company behind the innovative Vast and Go travel trailers—has announced a new addition to its line-up. Today, the company unveiled the all-new GO All-Terrain (GOAT) camper, custom-made for overlanders and off-roaders. As expected, the new towable displays the brand’s trademark build quality while offering unprecedented utility.

Built on an upgraded frame of SylvanSport’s popular Go camper, the GOAT offers 18″ of ground clearance, 40º departure angles, and a low center of gravity, allowing it to tackle the toughest terrain. The trailer further enhances its off-road cred by riding on Falken Wildpeak A/T tires, Vision steel wheels, and a durable Timbren suspension, all while tipping the scales at a mere 1,200 pounds.

Like the Go, the GOAT is designed to perform multiple tasks. In camper mode, a tent-like structure deploys and attaches to the frame, creating a lightweight shelter that comfortably sleeps four adults with room for two pets. Inside, the trailer offers a 6′ 5″ ceiling height and can be configured in multiple ways to meet individual users’ needs. It is even spacious enough for a plush king-size bed, ensuring campers get a good night’s sleep no matter where they wander.

Outdoor adventurers can choose to remove the tent and use the GOAT as a utility trailer for hauling cargo. Its rugged aluminum chassis provides a 950-pound load capacity, allowing it to carry everything from kayaks, e-bikes, and hunting gear to motorcycles and other equipment. Add-on racks and Molle panels allow owners to customize the trailer further, creating even more utility.

The GOAT’s lightweight construction makes it easy to tow behind just about any kind of vehicle, including small SUVs like a Subaru Forester or a Toyota RAV4. The camping trailer’s thoughtful design should also make it an exciting option for overlanders looking for a rugged camper that can go nearly anywhere. Add in the ability to haul plenty of gear and cargo, and it is easy to see why this unique towable is already generating plenty of buzz.

“The GO All-Terrain has undergone extensive off-road testing and performs just as exceptionally off the road as it does on the road,” says Brandon Miller, Head Engineer of the GOAT, in a press release. “The utility aspect of this trailer is unmatched as it is able to carry motos, ATVs, landscape supplies, building materials, or anything else you might use a utility trailer for. This utility, married with the capability, makes the GOAT the true GOAT.”

We had the chance to see early prototypes of the GOAT while visiting the SylvanSport factory back in December. Even the preproduction models impressed us with their attention to detail and outstanding build quality. While the trailer doesn’t offer as much comfort and features as the Vast, it will likely be a big hit with outdoor enthusiasts looking for a lightweight option for use on backcountry adventures.
