Known as the “Nation’s Summer Capital,” Delaware’s Rehoboth Bay offers free summer concerts at an open-air venue and a boardwalk lined with specialty shops, an amusement park, and scrumptious restaurants. Just a 20-minute drive away, Sun Outdoors Rehoboth Bay in Millsboro is a delightful waterfront retreat with its own beach and is packed with amenities and planned events. There are more than 250 RV sites, all with a patio, full hookups, a picnic table, a barbecue, and a fire ring. RV rentals are available, as are cottages and safari tents.
You can take to the water in a kayak or on a paddleboard, available for rent from the resort, or splash around in one of the two pools (one with a swim-up bar), fish from the mile of shoreline, join a rousing game of volleyball or take a couple of swings in the batting cage. For the young ones, the resort has a new playground and arcade to keep them entertained in between Sun Outdoors’ many planned activities that include a Color Run where participants “throw color” at each other, a Luau Weekend, Puppy Palooza, Think Pink Cornhole Tournament, and Monster Mash Weekend.

Sun Outdoors Rehoboth Bay has boat slips for rent and boat ramp access adjacent to the property. On-site are a café and a waterfront restaurant, and a pier. The property is surrounded by state park beaches, and both Delaware Seashore State Park and Cape Henlopen State Park are about 30 minutes from the RV resort and treat visitors to natural beach beauty, estuaries with abundant migrating birds, and relics from World War II that you won’t find anywhere else.
Nearby are Baywood Greens golf course, Dogfish Head Brewery, Tanger outlet stores, restaurants featuring local fare, and several grocery stores.
Rated 9.5/10*/10 by the Good Sam North American Campground Guide, Sun Outdoors Rehoboth Bay is open until November 1 this year and reopens on March 29 for the 2024 season. Summer weeknight special rates are offered for select sites.

Scenic Splendor: Vermont
Vermont’s name–from the French vert and mont–evokes Green Mountain National Forest’s 400,000-acre expanse. In fall, 900 miles of trail are awash in a blaze of burnished hues. Walk with us as we explore with Wildsam’s Vermont guide.
Fantastic Falls
Begin at Warren Falls, with its stunning views and cliff jumps ranging from 10–20 feet. This swimming hole’s waterfalls were created by glacial floods; now, a leap or two here is a popular late-summer tradition before the waters turn cooler. Warren Store, a Mad River Valley institution, is the go-to spot for picnic provisions.

Ready, Set, Hike
In Hancock, the 27.8-mile stretch of The Long Trail from Route 125 to US 4 takes an average of 14 hours to complete. But you can also sample smaller slices of this route through high-elevation wilderness. At the trail entrance, you’ll spot through-hikers as they convene and continue onward.
Poetry in Motion
Nearby in the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area, The Robert Frost Interpretive Trail is just a short walk away from the cabin where the poet once spent his summers; the shaded woodland trails and sun-dappled Middlebury River open up to a meadow replete with wild blueberries you can eat right off the bush during late summer
