Denver-based Tune Outdoor has made a name for itself over the past few years by delivering lightweight truck campers designed to make overlanding and off-grid camping more accessible. The company’s M1 and M1L models have quickly become favorites with truck owners looking for a comfortable and affordable option for traveling off-grid. Now, the brand has launched a line of products called the Tune Outdoor Interior Systems, which brings modular interior furnishings to further enhance the camping experience.

With the introduction of its M1 and M1L truck campers, Tune cemented itself as a favorite among overlanders and boondockers. Featuring an innovative pop-up design, those lightweight campers combine comfort and versatility, giving owners a queen-size bed and panoramic views, while still allowing them to customize the interior to meet their needs. In the past, M1 owners were largely left to do that customization on their own, but with the launch of the Interior Systems line, there are now ready-made solutions that can be installed quickly and easily.

Made from premium materials and to exacting standards, the Tune Outdoor Interior Systems line is designed and built specifically with overlanders in mind. That means the furnishings offer plenty of functionality in a compact form factor and can take a beating in the field without durability and long-term use a priority. True to the brand’s ethos, the products are lightweight, highly adaptable, and easy to add or remove as needed. That makes it easy to use your pickup for normal truck things during the week, then quickly transform it into an off-road overlanding rig for weekend excursions.

At launch, Tune is offering the Interior Systems in three unique variations, which include the Full Counter + Bench, Club + Bench, and Double or Single Bench configurations. Those options are priced at $5,050, $4,300, and $1,800, respectively, with each bringing its own set of features and utility. For instance, the Full Counter + Bench setup offers a versatile flat surface, organized storage cubbies, and a bench for sitting, all of which can be used in a variety of ways including meal prep, remote work, or just relaxing inside the camper. There’s even an option to add a sink that connects to individual fresh and gray water tanks. The Club + Bench config offers a similar setup, including an optional sink, but with more storage, while the bench options is fairly self-explanatory.

All of the furnishings are made from powder-coated aluminum, with Richlite countertops, faces, and benches. Molle panels are integrated into the design along user-facing surfaces, adding further versatility and functionality to the mix. The materials used in the construction of the Interior Systems furnishings are all rust and rot resistant, allowing them to be used in damp environments without worry. They are also very lightweight, with the Full Counter + Bench tipping the scales at just 107 lbs., while the Club + Bench weighs in at 89 lbs., and the Double or Single Bench configurations start at 35 lbs.

All of that is just the beginning, as each of the pieces also features additional options for further customization. For instance, the Full Counter and the Club both allow users to add or remove drawers to meet their needs and have shelves designed to fit storage bags and boxes from Rux. The various furnishings are also designed to fold up and out of the way when not in use, provided extra interior space. You can even add a modular table to the Club layout that can double as a desk. Essentially, Tune is giving its customers the ability to build the interior to fit their needs without compromising on weight or performance.

All of this probably sounds very enticing to overlanders looking for ways to upgrade their rigs. But there are a couple of caveats to keep in mind. First, and probably unsurprisingly, the Interior Systems are designed specifically for use with Tune’s M1 and M1L campers. The company even offers an online tool to help owners see how everything fits in their truck with the popular models that are supported. The other thing to keep in mind is that all of these furnishings must be installed by Tune at its Denver location, which means you’ll have to make the trek to the mother ship to complete the customization.

All of that said, the Tune Outdoor Interior Systems options look like great upgrades for existing M1 or M1L owners and should be incredibly enticing for anyone considering a new overlanding build. The campers and furnishings look like they work incredibly well together and can turn an existing truck into a full-featured RV pretty quickly. And better yet, there is still plenty of room to creatively outfit your rig further, adding power, lighting, cooking, and other elements as needed.
