This Tech Company Provides RVs for Its Employees
Project44 teams with Roameo to Offer Upscale ‘Mobile Suites.’
Data analytics firm project44 knows how to treat its employees right. In addition to offering generous compensation, excellent health and dental insurance, 401k retirement plans, and unlimited paid time off, the company is committed to allowing its employees to work from anywhere. So much so, that it recently added yet another enviable perk—company-provided RVs.
Partnering with camper van sales and rental outlet Roameo, project44 looked to create a traveling office space that staff could use while working remotely. The goal is to provide more freedom and flexibility for the team to travel while still having all the tools they need to remain productive.
Working closely with one another, Roameo and project44 created what is described as an “upscale mobile suite.” Built on the frame of a Ram ProMaster cargo van, the RVs feature onboard microwave ovens, hot showers, a mini-fridge, and a full-size bed. Other amenities include a dining table for two, swiveling driver and passenger chairs, privacy shades, and a full HVAC system.
The team at Roameo also added a few upgrades to make the camper vans more work-friendly. Those additions include mobile internet hotspots, additional 120-volt charging ports, and fold-out tables for use with computer workstations. The company even offers some pet-friendly vehicle options, allowing mobile workers to bring their dogs along for the journey.
“At project44, ‘sharing the wheel isn’t just encouraged, it’s one of five core values practiced by our team every day,” said Jett McCandless, founder and CEO at project44 says in a press release announcing the partnership. “Whether we’re ‘sharing the wheel’ to solve exciting industry challenges together, or a team member is at the wheel of a Roameo mobile suite headed toward a workspace in nature, the outcome is the same – inspired teams that are equipped to engage in meaningful collaboration that drives customer success from anywhere.”
It didn’t take long for the project44 staff to register their approval of the new program. The company reports that the schedule for the camper van pilot program was full within 10 minutes of being announced. A few employees have even had a chance to take one of the mobile suites on short getaways to rave reviews thus far.
In the same press release referenced above, people engagement coordinator April Weissler said, “My husband and I got away in the van for a quick weekend retreat, which was exactly the type of adventure I needed to spark my creativity.” She went on to add, “For me, the best part of being able to work from anywhere is the flexibility of the day-to-day, and our teams are loving this option.”
