RV Rentals are the New Frontier for Outdoors

In a win-win for RV enthusiasts, Good Sam’s new peer-to-peer RV rental platform guarantees that the owner makes the most money and the renter pays the least of any other RV rental service

What is the best part about traveling in our RVs? There are so many benefits, but let’s see—we’ve got a private home on wheels with our own cozy bed piled with our own fluffy pillows, a private loo, kitchens loaded with the gadgets and food we’ve selected, and a living space outfitted for relaxing and pondering the wonderful day we’ve had.

We can set up camp in an RV park alongside a hundred of our closest friends or camp in solitude on national forest land surrounded by trees and a billion stars with a stream lulling us to sleep. RV travel allows us to be flexible and snug, find hidden gems, connect with family, and make friends with fellow campers. And, it’s generally cheaper than vacationing by hotel. What’s not to love?

Well, there’s the monthly RV payment, if you have one, and then the maintenance and upkeep costs to consider. If you’re not using your RV as a full-time residence, there could be storage fees to factor in. To offset costs and even make extra money, you can rent out your RV through Good Sam RV Rentals when you aren’t using it for your own travels.

Connecting RV Owners and Renters

Good Sam’s new RV rental marketplace connects owners and renters to maximize the owner’s return on investment while allowing the renter to pay less money. RVs are more popular than ever and the demand to rent them is higher than ever, so the intention behind this platform is that it makes you money and saves you money, plus key services like Roadside Assistance and Travel Assist are available through the suite of Good Sam products. By keeping more money in enthusiasts’ pockets, more people will be drawn into the RV industry.

So Many RVs, So Little Time!

The RV industry is booming! According to the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), there are more than 11 million RV-owning households and 9.6 million households who intend to buy an RV within the next five years. Also, according to the RVIA, families spend an average of four weeks a year using their RVs. While it’s awesome that so many folks own RVs and are enjoying vacationing with them, this means that many perfectly great RVs are tucked away in storage or parked on the side of brick-and-mortar homes for 11 months out of the year.

Why wouldn’t you want to make money on your investment? First off, an RV is an even better investment than a static piece of property since this home on wheels can get you from one side of the country to the other and in-between if that’s your wish. Even if you rent your RV out for only a month out of the year that would cover costs for some loan payments and storage fees. Sort of like a mobile Airbnb, an owner can “host” their home on wheels, with Good Sam RV Rentals’ philosophy that the RV owner keeps more of their money and the RV renter is spending less for their rental. Both the owner and renter benefit from the most bang for their buck, and as an RV owner, you are sharing the fun lifestyle with others.

Try Before Buying

If you’re in the market to purchase an RV, renting various ones to “live in” for several nights or more is a smart idea, especially if you’re new to RVing. The beauty of RVs is that the choices are wide-ranging — from tiny trailers to pop-ups to large diesel-pusher motorhomes to van-type Class Bs to fifth-wheels to toy haulers, and so many more — that you can find just the right one to fit your needs. However, since there are so many types and floorplans, it can be confusing; you may fall in love with a certain make and model and then a short time later, fall in love all over again.

Renting is a wonderful opportunity to try out various RVs before plunking down 20 or 40 grand or more on an RV purchase that you later find out doesn’t cut it for your lifestyle. Why not hit the road in a couple of different rental RVs and see which ones bring you joy? At the very least, you’ll be having fun conducting your research!

Now and Then

Maybe you’re one of those who likes to bust out on the highway and head for greener pastures, five-star RV resorts, or quiet little campgrounds on occasion and cannot justify the expense of owning an RV. With RV rental, you can meet the owner at a designated area to pick up the RV, or the owners will deliver it to a campground of your choice, for instance, and you show up with your personal items. An advantage to renting an RV as compared to a hotel room is that if you don’t like your surroundings, you can roll up the welcome mat and move on to a place more fitting for what you had in mind.

So, what are you waiting for?! There are countless roads and places for you to explore and experience in RVs all across the country. And you can do it solo or pack up the whole gang—four-legged furry ones included‚—for adventures of a lifetime.
