RV parts supplier Lippert Component Manufacturing, Inc. has announced the acquisition of TJ Snuggles, Inc.—a company that specializes in creating custom tents for use with pop-up camping trailers. The move bolsters Lippert’s core manufacturing capabilities and puts it in a position to stay ahead of industry trends while continuing to meet consumer demand.

The acquisition gives Lippert control of TJ Snuggle’s 24,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Bremen, Indiana. The site has produced canvas solutions for the RV industry for more than 55 years and includes a highly-skilled workforce that will significantly expand Lippert’s cut-and-sew capacity.

“Many younger, first-time RV buyers are looking for that bridge between tent camping and RVing, and the current trends in the market reflect this, Ryan Smith, Group President of Lippert North America, said in a press release. “This acquisition will help Lippert stay on top of these trends and allow us to innovate a better customer experience for expandable RVs.”

Pop-up campers have grown in popularity in recent years due to their affordable price points and ease of towing. They also offer a natural extension from tent camping and hold a strong appeal with younger RV buyers. The TJ Snuggles canvas shelters will also compliment Lippert’s existing Vela line of pop-up roof tents designed for camper vans.

“We’re excited to expand our sewing capacity and capabilities by adding the industry expertise of TJ Snuggles,” Smith said. “We welcome their 60 team members to the Lippert family and look forward to exponential growth ahead as our OEM partners continually add more expandable models to their lineup.”
