We’ve covered the Keystone Walkabout 26MAX here on RV.com before, most prominently when it was first announced a few months back. But now, we’re finally starting to learn a lot more about this intriguing-looking travel trailer, beyond just its amazing exterior design. In fact, the video above takes us inside this awesome-looking towable, revealing plenty of details that were previously unknown.

As a reminder, the Walkabout is a travel trailer built with active outdoor enthusiasts in mind, including anglers and hunters. The rig was designed and built as a collaborative effort with Steven Rinella, the founder of the MeatEater fame, and as such includes a few special features. Those include things like built-in hooks for storing fishing rods, dedicated storage for wet gear and muddy boots, and a versatile fold-down exterior kitchen. But as you’ll see, that’s just the tip of the iceberg for this RV.

As of this writing, the floor plan for the Keystone Walkabout 26MAX hasn’t even been revealed on the company’s website yet, so this is your first look at its layout. This model comes with double bunks, which complement the queen-size bed found in the primary sleep space. This allows this particular floor plan (a second design had yet to be revealed) to comfortably sleep six while out on a wilderness adventure. As you would expect, the unit comes with a well-appointed kitchen equipped with a 12V refrigerator/freezer combo, a two-burner stove, a convection microwave/air fryer, and a large, highly-functional stainless steel sink. A spacious bathroom—with its own private entrance—includes porcelain toilet, a medicine cabinet, a small sink, and a shower built to accommodate tall campers.

One of the Walkabout’s signature features is its atrium slide-out. This section is located in the living room area and includes a massive, comfortable-looking couch flanked by two removable tables. But what really makes it stand out is the large windows that not only run the length of the slide, but are also located on the ceiling and sides. The result is something unlike anything found in any other travel trailer, delivering plenty of natural light to the interior and providing outstanding views at the campsite.

Other nice touches include copious amounts of storage throughout the rig, a rugged Curt off-road suspension paired with all-terrain tires, and a three-point auto-leveling system. Outdoor adventurers will also love the built-in exterior hose for washing down dirty gear and a gear garage with room for two adult-size bikes. The Walkabout comes with 220W of solar standard, with the option to upgrade to 440W with an inverter straight from the factory. The only downside as far as we can tell is that this model is only rated for three-season camping, which may deter some buyers looking for a base camp for their winter excursions.

The video above takes you on a thorough walkthrough of the entire Keystone Walkabout 26MAX floor plan, sharing more insights and details on its options and features. It also gives you a great look at the atrium slide, the impressive double sliding doors into the bedroom, and the thermostatically controlled storage compartment designed to help dry your gear quickly.

Visiting the Keystone website doesn’t reveal much more about this travel trailer just yet, although it does have some beautiful photos of the rig. You can also reserve your own for just $50 down, which seems like a small price to pay to get in line for this innovative and interesting towable.
