2021 Phaeton 401H Makes its Debut
The 2021 Phaeton 401H motorhome debuted at the Tampa SuperShow in January. It comes available on a new XCR Super Raised Rail Chassis that offers the tallest rail configuration in the industry. This helps the Phaeton deliver maximum storage and a flat coach floor from end to end.
The Super Raised Rail is equipped with a Cummins L9 engine that generates up to 450 horsepower and 1,250 lb.-ft. of torque. This allows the coach to have greater towing capacity and power to handle challenging grades without sacrificing fuel economy.
Its V-Ride rear suspension system has a rating of up to 24,000 lbs. This enables the Phaeton to carry a heavy load with superior roll stability, a smoother ride, and predictable handling. The independent front suspension has a 60-degree wheel cut, which eases maneuverability, lessens the need to back up, and provides a more confident driving experience.
The Phaeton comes equipped with DriveTech. This technology system combines ergonomic steering, easy-to-reach column-mounted controls, and an all-digital gauge display called Optiview to deliver an industry-leading automotive driving experience.
Safety features include Electronic Stability Control, Roll Stability Control, Collision Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Automatic Tractional Control. Phaeton has branded this suite of features as RoadWatch.
The Phaeton was developed as part of a partnership between Tiffin Motorhomes and Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. It is backed by FCCC’s 24/7 direct customer support. And, owners will also have access to the Oasis Service Network, which provides access to more than 450 Freightliner-branded service locations.
