Pleasure-Way Recon 4X4 Class B Camper Van
A rough and tumble 4X4 Class B that will take you anywhere.
Image Caption:
Pleasure-Way has dubbed its brand-new Recon an “Adventure Van,” and the manufacturer of quality Class Cs will get no argument from us. At first glance, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter-based motorhome with striking (though minimal) bright green graphics looks like another impressive entry into the luxury Class B market.
Look closer, and you spot the 4X4 capability … and the adventure doesn’t stop there. The adventure-ready features answer the questions of even the most devoted overlanders.
How Big is the Freshwater Tank?
Every drop of water counts while camping off the grid, and the Recon’s 40-gallon tank is downright massive for a motorhome this size.
Can I Power Up Off-Grid?
With a 400Ah lithium battery bank, 400 watts of roof-mounted solar, and a 2,000-watt pure sine wave inverter, the Recon is practically self-sustaining.
Where Do I Store My Gear?
The garage in the Recon is the largest available in a 19-foot van and provides 124 cubic feet of storage space, plus an L-track tie-down system for bikes, bins, and other cargo.
We could go on, but with a multiplex wiring system, true four-weather insulation, VarioHeat furnace and fridge/freezer from Truma, and 11-inch ground clearance, chances are the Recon has an answer to those questions, too. And it’s backed by a five-year coach warranty.
Highlights with Black Boxes
Versatility The Murphy bed in the rear allows you to sleep, store, and … make money; simply remove the cushions from the driver’s-side bed to transform into a 22.5-by-72-inch workstation.
Versatility, Plus! The dual-function wet bath/gear locker includes a shower rod and 5-gallon cassette toilet, plus a removable shelf and closet-rod storage system.
