It has been a busy couple of years over at Grand Design. The luxury RV brand has continued to produce some of the best towables in the business—including a new destination model—while also leaping into the motorized market for the first time. Back in 2024, the company introduced the Lineage Series M Class C coach to much acclaim, only to follow it up with the Lineage Series F Super C and the Lineage Series VT camper van in the months that followed. Now, the lineup is expanding once again, with the addition of another Class B model called the Lineage Series VP.

Unlike its Series VT stablemate, which rides on an AWD Ford Transit chassis, the Series VP is built using a Ram ProMaster Super High Roof platform. That means the new model isn’t quite as adept at wandering off-road, but it more than makes up for it with an interior ceiling height of 6’ 9”. This van model is more spacious in general, offering 12% more cubic feet of room compared to the industry standard.
All of that extra space didn’t go unnoticed—or unused—by Grand Design’s engineers. The design team came up with some very creative ways to fill it, most notably by incorporating a large U-shaped lounge in the rear of the van. The plush seating area offers room for six and includes a removable table that’s perfect for mealtime, but easily stows away when not in use. A smart TV mounted on a swing arm swivels out to provide entertainment, and the entire lounge converts into a massive bed at the end of the day. A second queen-size mattress sits above on a motorized lift that raises and lowers as needed.

The creativity doesn’t end there either. Like its Series VT sibling, the Series VP includes an Aquahaven Shower, which may be the largest and best-designed shower we’ve ever seen in a Class B coach. It sits midship, adjacent to the onboard bathroom, and includes a slide-out shower curtain that provides privacy while also keeping water from going everywhere. A rainfall shower head rivaling those found at home sits suspended from the ceiling, with water flowing out through a hidden drain in the floor. And when you’re done, everything neatly packs out of the way, freeing up the interior space for other uses.
The van’s galley kitchen is also practical, efficient, and well designed. It includes an under-counter cooktop, a convection microwave that doubles as an air fryer, and a 5.3-cubic-foot mini-fridge. A European-style curved countertop offers ample room for meal prep, with a small, but functional, sink helping to make cleanup a breeze. A pull-out pantry provides additional storage space, along with a surprising amount of drawers and overhead cupboards. More storage is found in the cabover space, while a small lounge, paired with a removable lagoon table, adds room for one or two more guests.

While the Lineage Series VP isn’t a four-season RV, it is well suited for a range of weather conditions. It comes equipped with an 18k BTU Furrion Chill Cube air conditioner and a Truma Combi G furnace/water hater. When the weather is cooperating, a 13’ Girard awning extends the living space to the outdoor. Grand Design even says the van comes with a lithium house battery, but its size and specs have yet to be revealed.
The Grand Design Lineage Series VP goes on sale early this spring, with two floor plans available. The RV manufacturer hasn’t announced pricing just yet, but the Ram ProMaster chassis tends to be more affordable than the Ford Transit or Mercedes Sprinter, so this may be a more approachable camper van for a larger audience. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the van’s launch and watch the Grand Design website for future developments.
