Stopping Power – REDARC’s Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller

If you tow a trailer that weighs at least 1,500 pounds, a brake controller is not only a must-have safety investment, it’s required by law (minimum weights vary depending on the state in which you’re towing).

REDARC’s Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller uses proportional braking technology to measure tow vehicle braking force and apply the trailer’s brakes accordingly, ensuring smooth braking without the dreaded push or pull on the vehicle during brake application. Featuring a three-axis accelerometer that allows the main unit to be installed in any position or orientation discreetly, the Liberty all but eliminates the clumsy knee-knocking of the typical brake controller installation in your vehicle’s cockpit.

Once installed, the Liberty self-calibrates for easy setup, and is compatible with both electric and electric-over-hydraulic brakes. The Liberty comes with a manual override function via the discreet dash-mounted remote head unit, allowing you to quickly and safely avoid trailer sway at the touch of a button. Check out REDARC’s website for recommended accessories and switch inserts, plus a wide selection of vehicle-specific wiring harnesses for popular tow vehicles to help ease the installation process. MSRP: $135.
