As usual, it was another busy week for the RV and camping industries. Here are a few of the biggest stories of the week that you might want to know about:

- SylvanSport Introduces Compact Vire Travel Trailer: Easily one of the biggest stories of the week is the announcement of the new Vire travel trailer from SylvanSport. The towable somewhat resembles the company’s fantastic Vast model, but comes with its own distinct personality and design, too. We’ll do a deeper dive on the rig early next week, but highlights include a comfortable layout that features a U-shaped dinette that converts to a king-size bed at the front, a small—but functional—kitchen in the rear, and an onboard wet bath with a cassette toilet. The Vire has been designed from the ground up with convenience in mind, which is demonstrated by its rear hatch that reveals plumbing and utility connections all in one place. Pass-through storage, large windows, 600W of solar, and a dry weight of 3,670 lbs are all notable highlights. Find out more here.

- Gear Patrol Shares the Most Notable Camper Vans of 2026: Class B coaches remain some of the most popular options for RV camping, which is why this week Gear Patrol announced its picks for the most notable camper vans of 2026. The models that made the cut include some very specific conversion models, along with a slew of rigs that may or may not be available stateside. Still, it is an interesting mix of vehicles that includes several options based models from Volkswagen, a few motorhomes from Westfalia, Airstream, and others. - Volkswagen Reveals Two New Camper Vans—For Europe: Still on the topic of camper vans, this week Volkswagen revealed two new models that show the brand is more than capable of making innovative RVs, just not for the US market. The company showed off two concept designs—one based on the gas-powered VW California platform and the other an all-electric ID. Buzz. What sets this apart is that they incorporate inflatable furnishings—including a kitchen—designed by Stuff Bubble. Both models will be at the upcoming Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, with runs from August 28 – September 6. Car and Driver has more here.

- Bluetti Launches SORA 500 Portable Solar Panel: Portable energy company Bluetti continues to innovate in that space. This week, the company announced the availability of its new SORA 500 portable solar panel, which is designed specifically with the overlanding and RV space in mind. The panel produces up to 500W of power, allowing it to recharge a power station, even while camping in a remote location. The panel also folds down for easy storage and is perfect for everything from weekend getaways to extended excursions, although it is just as useful in the backyard at home. Pricing starts at $799. - The Dyrt Shares the 10 Best Places to Camp in the US: The Dyrt has revealed its picks for the ten best places to camp in the US, as selected by its large online community of active RVers, car campers, and backpackers. The list is composed of the locations that earned the best overall scores from Dyrt members, with five of the top ten actually being free to camp at. While we won’t reveal the full list here, some of the places that made the cut include Sandy Springs Campground in Ohio, Shavano Mountain in Colorado, and Elkamp Eastcreek in Washington. - Electric Scooters and Other E-Mobility Devices Coming to National Parks: RVers have been early adopters of micromobility devices for some time, including electric scooters, skateboards, and other options such as the OneWheel. But soon, you may be able to use those devices to cruise around America’s national parks, thanks to a rule change from the National Park Service. This week, the NPS announced that park superintendents are now free to allow scooters and other micromobility vehicles on sidewalks, paved and gravel trails, and other appropriate places. Previously, they were only allowed on roads, which made them dangerous to use when intermixed with other park traffic. For now, don’t expect to see scooters and skateboards taking over paths, but expect the ground rules around these devices to loosen up moving forward. Also, it is important to note that the ruling doesn’t include e-bikes, which are still treated like regular bikes within the confines of the park. Gear Junkie has more details.

- Go RVing Partners with Pickleball World Championships: The 2026 Pickleball World Championships are set to go down on October 30 – November 8 in Dallas, TX. This week, the event announced that Go RVing was named an official partner for the tournament, with the organization being on hand to show off a variety of RVs and promote the lifestyle with attendees. Last year, more than 60,000 people were on hand to witness the competition, with crowds expected to be larger this year. Learn more here.

- Remote Vans and AEONrv Earn a Spot on the Inc. 5000 List: Two innovative RV manufacturers earned a spot on the Inc. 5000 List of the fastest-growing private companies in America. AEONrv came in at number 66 on the list after earning a 4,231% increase in revenue from 2022 through 2025. Meanwhile, Remote Vans found itself at number 205, putting it squarely in the top 5% of the companies on the Inc. list. Both companies are doing fun and innovative space, and the recognition is well deserved. Congrats to the teams at both AEONrv and Remote Vans for this recognition. RV Pro has further details here.

- The Motorcoach Store Debuts Fractional Ownership Program: Have you always wanted to own a high-end, luxury RV but were put off by, well, you know, the price? If your answer is yes, we may have some good news for you. This week, The Motorcoach Store launched a new fractional ownership program which allows buyers to purchase an ownership share of a luxury RV without having to pay the full purchase price or the day-to-day operational responsibilities that come along with it. Essentially, you’re buying an RV with others under the agreement that you share the vehicle for usage throughout the year. The entry-level buy-in grants ten weeks of usage annually, although there are options for larger shares depending on the needs. This format has been popular with yacht ownership in the past, although this is the first time such a program has come for RVs. RV Business has the lowdown here.
