The Boxy Mohican Caravan is a Feature-Packed Tiny Trailer

A Small, Lightweight Towable That Isn’t a Teardrop

Teardrop towables have become so popular in recent years that it’s rare to find a small travel trailer that doesn’t mimic that shape. But the Mohican Caravan from Turkish company Hotomobil eschews the classic rounded design in favor of a more boxy form factor. What the Mohican sacrifices in aerodynamics, however, it more than makes up for in style and features.

The Mohican Caravan is compact and lightweight at just 11.5 feet in length and weighing in at 880 pounds. That makes it extremely easy to tow with just about any vehicle, including small family sedans, crossovers, and EVs. Its small size also allows the camper to fit into tight campsites or store in a garage.

The Mohican’s squared-off shape provides a bit of extra interior space, which the designers at Hotomobil put to good use. It features a double bed, wooden cabinets, large windows on either side and a skylight. A small kitchen space slides out from the rear of the trailer and includes a wooden countertop, sink, and a single-burner stove. There is room for an optional refrigerator for those who opt for one.

A 12-gallon tank supplies water to the sink and an external shower kit. Built-in LED lighting can be found throughout the cabin, with power supplied by a 50-amp hour battery pack. Hotomobil offers an upgrade to a 100-amp hour model for those who need additional capacity, and there are two solar panel add-on packages available.

Other optional features include a rooftop tent with space for two additional guests and an external shower/changing room. The Mohican can also be decked out with an awning, bike rack, and a portable toilette. Hotomobil’s “adventure package” adds oversized fenders and rims, along with off-road tires and a basket.

The Mohican Caravan is available for purchase in Europe, but there is no word if it is coming stateside. The camper sells for about $14,000, which would make it competitively priced with similar-sized towables.
