WY Responsibly Campaign Returns 2021

WY Responsibly 2021 Summer Campaign Kicks off Second Year

The Wyoming Office of Tourism will launch its WY Responsibly campaign June 1 2021, for the second consecutive year, encouraging mindful traveling through the state. The summer campaign’s value-based mission is to educate and facilitate responsible travel by being stewards of Wyoming’s natural spaces, wildlife, communities, and culture.

“Outdoor recreation has become even more popular over the past year with people looking for naturally social-distanced activities. With our wide-open spaces, Wyoming is an ideal destination for travelers and this summer we anticipate even more visitors will explore the state,” said Diane Shober, Executive Director of Wyoming Office of Tourism.

In 2020, the state of Wyoming experienced a surge in travelers and tourism, in part due to its extensive outdoor recreation activities in the midst of a pandemic. Travelers enjoy national parks, forests and open spaces, historic landmarks and monuments. Wyoming is the least populated state in the US.

The WY Responsibly campaign is a component of WOT’s award-winning tourism campaign, “That’s WY.”  And as an extension of WY Responsibly, WOT has also developed a “Know Before You Go” program, which helps travelers learn what to expect when camping on different types of land in Wyoming. Fire and wildlife safety precautions are taught, and travelers are reminded to pick up after themselves and their pets while visiting.
