If you’re ready to put winter in your rearview mirror and welcome spring in a unique way, we have just the RV trip for you. The new Spacious Skies Campgrounds Spring Bloom Trail is a multi-state road trip adventure that celebrates the return of some iconic wildflowers in some stunning settings. All you have to do is fire up your rig and follow the route, visiting some fantastic campsites along the way.

The Spring Bloom Trail is designed to follow a specific route, arriving at new destinations just as the weather warms and the wildflowers start to appear. The path begins in Monterey, Tennessee, before heading to Marion, North Carolina, and Gaffney, South Carolina, where the flowers arrive in late March.

All told, there are 13 different destinations along the trail, each one corresponding with a specific Spacious Skies campground. In addition to the stops in Tennessee and North and South Carolina, the route also winds way Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine.

RVers following the trail will make their way north just as warmer weather arrives in the next location. This allows travelers to witness the first blooms of the year in March but also catch similar bursts of color throughout April and May. Some of the wildflowers found along the route include the endangered Virginia spirea, rhododendrons, flowering dogwoods, wild azaleas and orchids, and many more.

Each of the campgrounds that are a part of the route is nicely spaced out from one another, yet close enough that you won’t spend the entire day in your rig. Most are three to four hours apart or less, with the road wandering through some very scenic parts of the country.

“Spring is a time of renewal, and when the first wildflowers begin popping up through sometimes still-frosty ground, we know that the warmth, sunshine and adventures of the season have finally arrived,” says Spacious Skies CEO and creative director Ali Rasmussen in a press release. “Our mission as a growing company is to not only offer fun and authentic campground experiences, but to also support local attractions, artists and other makers, and the Spring Bloom Trail is another way we encourage our guests to explore each region by day and relax and ‘camp on’ at night.”
