In town, visitors can sip fine tea at the Fleur De Lis Tea Company or watch a thrilling rodeo in the Florida Parishes Arena. The venue also hosts events like Vintage Market Days, a vintage-inspired market for art, clothing, antiques, and other goods.

In nearby Folsom, the Global Wildlife Center hosts exotic animals from across the world on 900 acres of open land. Take a wagon tour and feed the animals from the comfort of a canopy-covered vehicle. Keep things wild with a visit to Kliebert & Sons Alligator Tours, which showcase more than 300 gators ranging from 9 to 18 feet in length. Watch them swim or bask in the sun or get acquainted with some of the 47,000 turtles on the property.

Visiting in April? The annual Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival (April 11-13) tantalizes travelers with a sweet tooth; try the wide variety of strawberry-related treats and enjoy entertainment and rides. Throughout the year, fruit stands abound with the sweet berry.
