Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), drivers between the ages of
16 and 19 years are four times more likely than older drivers to be involved in vehicle
crashes. According to Edmunds.com, the use of cell phones while driving is the No. 1
distraction for teenage drivers that can lead to accidents. Among the other top
distractions, Edmunds listed the following: passengers, loud music, anger and stress, plus
text messaging. It added that young drivers must be extra careful due to their lack of
experience.
