Few of us can afford a truly customized coach — which simply means
that, after taking possession, we begin that years-long quest to modify
it for our own particular lifestyles.
Lighting is probably one of the more egregious examples of
production-line efficiency. If you need a light where the manufacturer
didn’t mount one — and who hasn’t? — the wave of LED-powered compact
lights makes this a quick fix. In fact, a new line from Innovative
Lighting not only provides a choice of finishes (brass, silver, black
and white), but you can also select the field of illumination (wide, or
concentrated) and even the color of the light itself (available with
white, red, blue or amber high-output LEDs). The 12-volt DC lights are
claimed to have low energy draws ranging from .40 milliamps to .70
milliamps, and deliver from one to three watts of output. According to
the company, the round, low-profile 3-inch-diameter lights can be
surface-mounted or recessed, and the LEDs are shock- and vibration-proof
and rated for 50,000 hours of service.
