Ford Recalls 3.8 Million Trucks, SUVs In the fifth largest-ever recall
ever, Ford dealers will repair an electrical defect in approximately 3.8 million trucks and
SUVs. The recall includes 1994-2002 F-150 pickups, 1997-2002 Expedition SUVs, 1998-2002
Lincoln Navigators and 1994-96 Ford Broncos equipped with cruise control. The problem is
caused by brake fluid leaking into control electrical components, which has been blamed for
about 1,100 fires. Ford has already recalled about 800,000 model-year 2000 vehicles for a
similar problem. Toyota Recalls 978,000 Trucks, SUVs Toyota is recalling
978,000 SUVs and trucks for a problem with the steering. A linkage from the steering unit
to the wheels can fail, which can lead to a loss of steering. The problem, however, occurs
when the vehicles are stopped. The Toyotas included in the recall are the 1990-95 4Runner
SUV, 1989-95 Truck 4WD, and 1993-98 T-100 pickup.
