Toyota Recalls Tundra Pickups

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

Toyota is recalling 15,600 4×4 versions of the 2007 Tundra pickup truck for problems with
the driveshaft connected to the rear axle. Toyota says a U-joint in the rear shaft may have
been improperly heat-treated, leading to possible failure. A section of the rear driveshaft
shaft could separate at the U-joint, immobilizing the truck and forcing it to stop. Owners
will be notified of the recall and will need to contact dealers to have their truck
inspected. If the hardness is not correct, the dealer will replace the rear driveshaft
free. Customers can contact Toyota at (800) 331-4331.
