Titan 391 SUT

On any weekend, it’s easy to find the new breed of RVers that use outdoor toys to enjoy
parts of America traditionally overlooked in favor of more sedate RV parks. SunnyBrook
apparently had this group in mind when designing its Titan 391 SUT fifth-wheel. The SUT
stands for sport-utility trailer, and the Titan features a built-in garage to accommodate
popular toys for active outdoor enthusiasts. According to Jim Wilson, SunnyBrook’s vice
president and national sales manager, “At SunnyBrook we are known for our innovative
aluminum-framed superstructure. This new Sport Utility Trailer series is built utilizing
the same quality materials, workmanship and amenities that are found in the traditional
SunnyBrook Titan fifth-wheel and travel trailers. These units are very appealing to the
discretionary consumer who wants to take their toys with them, but who still wants to come
home to luxurious accommodations.” Adds company president Elvie Frey, “These units are
being offered with most of the options that are available on the Titan fifth-wheel series,
including the interior-upgrade package, which includes Corian countertops, solid-oak
cabinet framing, fluorescent lighting, a fiberglass shower stall, a brushed-nickel-hardware
look and more.” The Titan 391 is a large fifth-wheel, tipping the scales with a dry weight
of more than 12,000 pounds; the trailer has an 18,000-pound gross vehicle weight rating
(gvwr) riding on three axles. You’ll need a lot of truck to pull it after it’s filled with
all the gear and toys for a weekend in the wilds; this is definitely medium-duty territory.
But with an overall length just 2 inches shy of 40 feet, the Titan has the interior room to
offer plenty of amenities for comfortable living, no matter how wild the setting. At the
leading end is a bedroom suite with an island queen bed, flanked by shirt wardrobes and
crowned with a row of overhead cabinets. A full-height wardrobe provides additional
clothing-storage space, and a TV cabinet brings on the entertainment. A couple of optional
bedroom layouts are available, with twin beds or a slideout queen among the choices.
Privacy doors separate the bedroom from the bathroom, with its corner tub/shower, vanity
and enclosed toilet room. Bathroom options include different owner-selectable shower
arrangements. Farther rearward are the living room, dinette and kitchen, all in one large
enclosure. The convertible sofa and dinette glide out in the expanding section that runs
the entire length of the room, and buyers can choose between a booth-style dinette or
freestanding table and chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary
appliances, some of which can be upgraded through the option process. And then, of course,
there’s the garage — the real highlight of this fifth-wheel. Depending upon your personal
needs, this space can be equipped with options such as bunks and overhead cabinets. If
you’ve got a big truck and expect a bit of luxury after your rugged ATV adventures, the
SunnyBrook Titan 391 SUT certainly deserves a fair amount of consideration. SunnyBrook RV
