Tires Converted to Oil in Texas

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

Titan Technologies Inc. of Albuquerque, New Mexico. recently announced that it has been
issued an Air Quality Permit by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. This
authorizes Neofuels USA, which holds a license with Titan Technologies, to construct and
operate a tire-recycling plant at Port Arthur, Texas. Neofuels says it plans to build a
tire-recycling facility there that can process about 300 tons of scrap tires (approximately
30,000) per day, using its patented Titan “thermolysis” process. The plant is expected to
produce 1,000 barrels (approximately 42,000 gallons) of fuel-grade oil, plus 90 tons of
carbon black and 30 tons of steel each day. Neofuels has preliminary plans and certain
licensing rights to build more plants in the United States.
