“Entry-level” is a phrase that can send a chill down the spine of many a first-time RVer.
What does that mean, exactly? Shoddy construction? No standard features, perhaps? If these
are your fears, SunnyBrook RV aims to ease them with its Sunset Creek line of travel
trailers. Full-featured and available in a total of six floorplans, the company believes
that the Sunset Creek has everything a first-time RVing family could need. “We want our
customers to purchase a Sunset Creek and go camping right away, without ever wishing they
had purchased this option or that,” explained Dymon Farrer, product manager for SunnyBrook
RV. “To that end, we’ve placed a lot of mid-level features into an entry-level product.” In
particular, Farrer points out that every Sunset Creek is built on SunnyBrook’s five-sided
aluminum framing, just like its higher-end products. The holding tanks are heated and
enclosed, and there’s a large pass-through storage compartment up front. Now, if you want
glamour, step inside a Sunset Creek, and Farrer says you’ll see the difference in the
details. A choice of three fabrics, satin-nickel finishes, a porcelain toilet and a glass
shower door are just a few of the features common to all Sunset Creek floorplans. The 279RB
model shown on these pages, however, has one feature in particular that small families will
be interested in: a roomy rear bathroom. “It is unbelievably large,” says Farrer. “It’s got
a full wardrobe closet, a neo-angle shower and a large lavatory. You can walk in, turn
around and get dressed — it’s not your average bathroom.” In the living area, the 279RB
boasts a large streetside slideout with a booth dinette, a sofa and an overhead cabinet.
Directly opposite is the kitchen, which features residential-style linoleum, a large
pantry, a double-door refrigerator, a microwave oven and more overhead storage. At the rear
of the living space, facing forward, is a television cabinet with satellite prep and cable
hookup — but you’ll have to supply the television. At the front is the master bedroom,
which features an island bed with an overhead cabinet, as well as a nightstand and a shirt
wardrobe on either side. In all, the 279RB can sleep up to four, with two little ones in
the booth dinette and two in the bedroom. Other standard features of note include ducted
air conditioning and floor heat, a six-gallon DSI gas/electric water heater and an E-Z
winterizing system. Options are few, and include an outside shower, a range cover, a sink
cover, a sofa bed (which increases sleeping capacity by two) and a swivel rocker.
“Sunnybrook has always been recognized as a good product,” says Farrer. “The Sunset Creek
is allowing first-timers and young families to purchase a Sunnybrook product, and have all
