Study Says U.S. Diesel Demand Will Grow

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

According to a study titled “Global Diesel Light-Vehicle Forecast,” recently released by
J.D. Power & Associates, the percentage of new diesel vehicles sold annually in North
America is expected to rise from 3 percent in 2007 to 14 percent by 2017. J.D. Power
attributes the growth in U.S. diesel demand to cleaner diesel emissions, higher fuel prices
and growing awareness of environmental issues. It also concluded that consumers now see
cleaner diesels as part of the solution for CO2 emissions and air quality, and that diesels
are no longer associated with poor performance.
