Some OnStar Users to Lose Service

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

Owners of General Motors vehicles built before the 2003 model year, and Mercedes sold
between 2001 and 2004, may lose their OnStar analog service. At the end of this year,
service providers will switch to all-digital transmission. OnStar is offering a free
one-year subscription to the roadside/emergency service, if customers purchase or lease a
new GM vehicle or a used 2006 model. Mercedes-Benz owners will be able to buy system
upgrades at their dealers. Lexus owners are being told that they will lose LexusLink analog
service next February. Owners can have the system removed at no charge at a Lexus dealer,
or they can receive a certificate valued at $900 to purchase digital LexusLink, if they
purchase a new Lexus.
