Unlike most motorhomes, Country Coach allows buyers to “mix and match” and choose from two
to four slideouts with virtually the same general floorplan. “The Siena was the first coach
offered as a quad slide. We decided to give the customer as much choice and selection as
possible. Wouldn’t it be great if we could walk into the floorplan and say, ‘here are four
slides, you can choose from two up to all four of those, and choose the ones you want,'”
said Carol Taylor-Clay, the director of public relations for Country Coach. “The Siena is
available as a double, triple or quad slide, with interchanging options. For example, I ran
into someone at the show recently who said he just didn’t want his bed to slide, for
whatever reason, so in this case he could have the living room and galley slides, and then
have the dresser slide from the foot of the bed, rather than the head of the bed, so the
bed wasn’t going to move.” “Or, if people just want to put all the slide space into their
living area they can go with two slides, or if they want one in the bedroom and one up
front, the list goes on and on. It’s all about giving choices,” she continued. The Siena is
available with one basic floorplan, but changing the slideouts alters the interior detail
arrangement somewhat without making significant changes to the coach layout. “Within the
36-foot length you can alter your seating choices that also alter the floorplan,” said
Taylor-Clay. “You can have a computer table and chair, you can have a sofa, various options
along that line, a hide-a-bed or an occasional table and chair.” The modular-style design
approach is finding its way to other Country Coach products as well. “At the recent show in
Albuquerque, we had a couple of other models with the modular floorplans,” added
Taylor-Clay. Although positioned at the entry level of the Country Coach product line, the
Siena doesn’t lack for any high-end features. A proprietary Dynomax chassis is standard on
the Siena, and features semi-monocoque construction and an Allison 3000MH six-speed
automatic transmission. A Holland/Neway independent front suspension (IFS) system is also
standard equipment, and includes dual Firestone air bags, an ipd sway bar and Koni shock
absorbers. “It has a Caterpillar C-9 400-hp engine and 85-inch interior height, and a
6-foot 4-inch person can stand in the driver’s side slide room. The coach also has overhead
cabinets in the slide room so you didn’t sacrifice storage, but you also have that higher
headroom,” said Taylor-Clay. “It comes standard with a 27-inch flat screen television in
the overhead dash, but you can opt for a 32-inch LCD HDTV monitor. Everything we’re doing
now is High Definition ready.” The balance of the coach features high-end construction with
an all-steel-tube frame, a smooth fiberglass exterior and aluminum storage compartment
doors, a one-piece laminated fiberglass roof and the usual array of high-grade components.
A 36-foot Siena nicely equipped will sell for approximately $261,000 msrp. Country Coach,
