Savoy 28RLS(2)

Aimed at the first-time buyer, the lightweight Savoy 28RLS from Holiday Rambler features
the same Alumaframe and multilayer type of construction found in the company’s mid- and
high-line Alumascape travel trailers and Presidential fifth-wheels, according to Brad
McKinney, Holiday Rambler towable products’ national sales manager. “With more and more
first-time and younger buyers entering the RV marketplace, we can now make available to
this segment the same quality of product, the same warranty and the same service and
support network that owners of our mid- and high-line products rely upon. When we look at
the customers visiting the RV showrooms across America and the trucks that are on the road,
we see the time is right for the Holiday Rambler 28RLS,” explains McKinney. With a gross
vehicle weight rating (gvwr) of 9,950 pounds, a hitch weight of 1,384 pounds and a cargo
carrying capacity of 2,588 pounds, the rear curbside entry 28RLS is designed as a mate for
trucks like the Ford F-250, the Chevy and GMC 2500s and the Dodge Ram 2500. The key to the
Savoy’s reduced gvwr is its mid-level height and welded-aluminum-frame construction.
Structural members are spot-welded at the points where they pass through and intersect one
another. In the C-channel and H-channel members used to create the wall infrastructure,
holes are punched to reduce weight. These holes also provide a pathway for electrical
wiring. With this configuration and the use of residential insulation, the house AC
receptacles can be installed in the walls themselves, in lieu of the interior cabinets.
More than 17-square feet of window surface area in the rear wall facilitates viewing the
world outside from the comfort of the inside. With the Savoy’s mid-level height and reduced
front profile, drag coefficient is improved (reduced wind resistance), which improves fuel
economy. Holiday Rambler offers the 28-foot 6-inch 28RLS with a sofa/ dinette slideout and
features sleeping quarters that include a 60 x 74-inch queen bed, a convertible
sofa/sleeper and a dinette that quickly converts into a bed. All upholstered surfaces are
protected against stains with Dupont Teflon soil repellent. The 28RLS is capable of
accommodating up to six overnight guests. Available in three different décor packages (Ruby
Canyon, Spice Route and Black Slate), the Savoy features Vintage Oak cabinetry. Standard
and optional features include a 20-inch television, power electric front jacks, rear
stabilizer jacks, galley countertop extensions, bar stools, twin barrel/ swivel chairs,
day/blackout shades and a 15,000-BTU roof air conditioner. Holiday Rambler, (800) 245-4778,
