Saab has announced it will introduce a midsize SUV in early 2005. Dubbed the 9-7X, the new
Saab SUV will be based on the Chevrolet TrailBlazer/GMC Envoy platform. It will feature
all-wheel drive and the choice of two engines. Saab claims the 9-7X will be more
differentiated than the Isuzu Ascender SUV, which is built on the same chassis. The
automaker plans to unveil the new 9-7X at the New York Auto Show next April.
