Thousands of volunteers in every state will put their hands to work on
Saturday, September 25, 2010, in a coast-to-coast effort to improve and
enhance our treasured lands — and many of those volunteers will be
RVers. National Public Lands Day engages a diverse audience of adult and
youth volunteers to get outdoors and improve their lands, whether at
the grandest national park or at an urban park in their neighborhood.
From Plymouth Rock to the Golden Gate, the Tallgrass Prairie, the
Rockies, the Rio Grande — volunteers will join in this national day of
caring for their lands. Volunteers build bridges and trails, improve
habitat for wildlife, plant trees, remove invasive plants that threaten
fragile natives, protect natural, historic and cultural resources—and
much more. Volunteers work in parks and forests, at rivers, lakes, and
wetlands, at cultural and historic sites and in their own neighborhoods.
