A new survey reveals that RV owners will be traveling throughout the United States in
dramatically greater numbers this summer than a year ago. According to the latest Campfire
Canvass, a biannual survey of RV owners by the Reston, Virginia-based Recreational Vehicle
Industry Association, 75 percent of RV owners expect to travel more this summer. RV owners
on average plan to log 3,751 miles this summer, up more than 800 miles from last year.
Approximately 90 percent of the respondents said that freedom, flexibility and control they
have with RV travel is now more important than ever, especially in contrast with long lines
and restrictions at airports.
