Ranger Pickup Gets Updated for 2004

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

Ford’s Ranger will be refreshed for 2004 to better compete against Chevrolet’s new Colorado
compact truck. The 2004 Ranger is identified by a new front-end design that is similar to
the new F-150. A choice of bench or bucket seats is offered for the first time in leather
trim, and new instruments also are added. The Tremor audiophile model gets 4×4 capability
along with a new high-powered stereo system. The FX4 also gains a manual transmission
option, and off-road models get retuned suspensions. Powertrains remain mainly unchanged
with a 143-hp four, a 154-hp 3.0-liter V-6, and a 207-hp 4.0-liter V-6.
