Ford Continues Zero-Percent Financing Ford has announced that it will
continue offering zero percent financing and customer cashback up to $2,500 until Monday,
April 8, on most 2002 Ford brand cars, trucks and SUVs. Chrysler to Introduce Many
New Models
Chrysler Group President and Chief Executive Officer Dieter Zetsche
announced recently at the National Press Club that the Chrysler Group will introduce 11 new
vehicles in the 2002-2004 time period. This is part of a five-year, $30 billion investment
plan in new products and programs designed to boost lagging sales. GM Improves
StabiliTrak, Increases Availability
General Motors is to widen the availability of
its StabiliTrak stability enhancement system to all 2003 model-year Chevrolet and GMC
full-size utilities fitted with the 5.3-litre V-8 engine. This system offers significant
benefits to trailerists. Safety Recalls The National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced a series of recalls including:

  • 71,677 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokees with a refueling vapor recovery control valve that
    can become detached and leak after a crash;
  • 55,505 1999-2001 Land Rover Discovery II SUVs with faulty ABS systems and 64,925
    1999-2002 versions with weakened accelerator cables;
  • 273,743 1996-1998 Toyota 4Runner SUVs to replace defective rear-suspension
    parts.
