The Chrysler Group will recall about 500,000 of
its 1996-98 minivans because an errant spring could prevent proper functioning of the
driver-side airbag, plus the horn and cruise control. Recalled models include various
Caravan/Grand Caravan, Grand Voyager, Voyager, and Town & Country models. Owners who
haven’t received notification should check with their dealers.

Dodge Recalls
Trucks

Approximately 46,000 2002 Dodge 4WD pickups built between July and November
2001 are being recalled for a brake problem. The rear-axle flange may fail and allow the
caliper to turn, resulting in a torn hose and loss of rear-brake hydraulic pressure. This
is NHTSA recall no. 02V159. Owners should contact their dealers to inquire about free
repairs.

GM Recalls Minivans, Cars General Motors is recalling 1.5 million
minivans and cars for faulty steering gear. The models involved could suffer a loss of
power steering when the steering gear separates, the company said. Vehicles involved
include the 1996-98 Chevrolet Cavalier/Pontiac Sunfire; 1996-98 Chevrolet Lumina/Venture,
Olds Silhouette and Pontiac TranSport minivans; and 1997-98 Pontiac Grand Prix sedans. The
cars were sold in the United States and Canada. Repairs will be made beginning in January,
free of charge.
