Based on spy photos of vehicles undergoing testing, it looks like the Hummer H2 SUT pickup
may grow longer by about two feet in coming years. This would allow a significant increase
in cargo space compared to current H2 SUT models.
The new longer H2 would likely be based
on the GMT900 chassis that is used on the Suburban, rather than the current H2’s
Tahoe-based platform. In related news, General Motors reports that it will add a compact
pickup truck to its Hummer lineup.
The new H3T pickup, which is said to be a four-door
model that is larger than typical midsize pickups, will have a useful truck bed. The H3T
should have a 3.5-liter in-line five-cylinder standard and an optional 5.3-liter V-8.
Expect the H3T at dealers in late 2008.
