New Horizons

We’ve all heard the old adage, “You can’t take it with you.” While this may be true of the
afterlife, nothing could be further from the truth for those living the RV life. When one’s
traveling bone beckons, today’s SURVs can not only provide all the comforts of home, but a
garage as well. New Horizons RV of Junction City, Kansas, is one of the latest companies to
join the burgeoning SURV market with its line of MotoMover fifth-wheel trailers. Unlike
most other manufacturers that target such products at off-road motorcycle and ATV
enthusiasts, the MotoMover is aimed squarely at the touring motorcyclist who desires more
luxurious accommodations. “We received feedback from RV dealers and consumers alike that
the other SURV products were not catering to the luxury market — so we are,” commented
Phil Brokenicky, president of New Horizons RV Corporation. “We offer luxury living quarters
up front and a functional garage in the rear — a tremendous combination unparalleled in
the market.” The MotoMover is offered in five different floorplans, ranging in length from
31 feet to more than 40 feet. Standard features across the product line include independent
or air suspension, custom cherry, oak or maple cabinetry, residential plumbing fixtures and
four-season capability. In the garage area, which is completely separated from the living
quarters by a bulkhead and entry door, buyers can choose from aluminum-tread-plate,
sprayed-on or vinyl-checkerboard flooring and either fixed floor-mount or adjustable
wall-mount tie-down points. The garage floor is lowered at the rear to create a more gentle
slope for easy loading/unloading, and the door is spring-loaded to make opening and closing
a one-hand affair. For those with only one bike in tow, the MotoMover can be optioned with
a side access garage door that allows the bike to be loaded along the trailer’s width,
providing more living space. New Horizons is a relatively small company, so it has no
dealer network and builds each trailer to the customer’s order. As such, special requests
are no problem; in fact, the customer can even design his/her own floorplan with help from
the New Horizons staff. “It’s a custom-designed product,” said Brokenicky. “We have 30
different interior colors available, so you can equip it the way you want and decorate it
the way you want. We can even provide an extensive array of utility workspace in the garage
area to suit the individual needs of the customer.” Pictured is the F39TYSSS1, which
features a queen-size bed in a streetside slideout, and a separate bath area below with a
neo-angle shower and ceramic toilet. The living area is equipped with a sleeper sofa with
recliner-style footrests and a four-place dinette in a streetside slideout, and the
opposing kitchen features a Dometic two-way 8-cubic-foot refrigerator, 1.1-cubic-foot
microwave and a Wedgewood high-output three-burner range. A 27-inch flat-screen television
is standard. Options include solid-surface countertops, a dishwasher, a bar, an AC
generator, a solar system with inverter, disc brakes and an auto leveling system, among
others. New Horizons RV Corporation, (800) 235-3140, newhorizonsrv.com
