New Brand Opens in Closed Factory

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

Last July, Fleetwood announced it would close its Canadian trailer production facility,
putting more than 400 employees out of work. In December, Kawartha Lakes in the Lindsay
area and the management of Great Lakes Recreational Products Inc. announced the intended
restart of production of travel trailers and fifth-wheels at the shuttered Mount Hope
Street plant.

According to an article by Catherine Whitnall at www.mykawartha.com, Great
Lakes has announced that roughly 300 employees will be hired during the first quarter, that
former Fleetwood employees will be given first consideration, and all employees will be
salaried.

The vehicles will be manufactured under the Great Lakes RV brand, and the first
trailer is expected to roll out the end of January 2008.
