TRW Automotive, Livonia, Michigan, has announced the development of a second generation of
its Active Dynamic Control (ADC 2).
The system improves on TRW’s ADC 1 system, which was
basically a lateral dynamic control system, and adds a body roll control function. The ADC
2 controls separate front and rear hydraulic circuits independently.
The system replaces
the solid links of one anti-sway bar end with a hydraulic actuator. The actuators are
controlled by an electrohydraulic control unit that uses sensors to determine driving
conditions. It is said to work on all types of cars, light trucks and SUVs, and promises
better ride and handling.
