NADA Warns of Damaged Vehicles

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

The National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) has issued a warning to be wary of
vehicles damaged by hurricanes or flooding. These may find their way to used-car lots, and
also they may be sold by private parties.

NADA is also pressing Congress to pass
legislation establishing uniform standards among states for vehicle salvage titles. The
National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) also is working with the industry and authorities to
catalog recent hurricane-damaged vehicles.

The NICB Web site (www.nicb.org) offers a way for potential buyers to check the VIN of a
vehicle under purchase consideration.
