To mark Ford’s 100th anniversary, a convoy of Model-T Fords is making a cross-country
drive. The drivers of 43 Tin Lizzies began the trip on May 25.
They are driving
approximately 3,000 miles from Lancaster, California, to Ford’s Centennial celebration in
Dearborn, Michigan, which begins June 12. Ford is providing two trucks for use as support
vehicles. The group will tour nine states, avoiding interstates because of their 35-mph
cruising speed. Nearly half of the vehicles participating were made before 1915.
