M-B Boasts 'Cleanest Diesel'

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

Mercedes-Benz has introduced its latest Bluetec diesel technology, which, according to the
automaker, is the “cleanest diesel technology in the world, and will provide high torque
and pulling power even at low engine speeds, impressive range and economic efficiency.”

The
first Bluetec vehicles available to U.S. consumers will be the E 320 Bluetec models using a
V-6 diesel engine developing 211 hp, due in late 2006.

Mercedes also introduced a GL 320
Bluetec SUV, but it is unclear when it will be available in the United States. Fuel mileage
is claimed to be 25 mpg for the GL 320 and 35 mpg for the E 320, both with Bluetec.
