Low-Sulfur Diesel Fuel Is Coming

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

Low-sulfur diesel fuel is considered to be essential to the development of future

compression-ignition engines are to be allowed to be sold in areas seriously affected by
smog, such as California. According to Duane Gilliam, executive vice president for
corporate affairs at Marathon Ashland Petroleum, the oil industry is working toward
producing a low-sulfur diesel fuel and expects to have it available at the pump in either
2003 or 2004.
