Land Rover Considers Diesels for U.S. Market

Diesel engines are well-known for their high torque and excellent fuel economy, especially
when towing. Ford’s Land Rover division is reportedly testing diesel Range Rover and
Freelander sport-utility vehicles and is considering them for possible sale in the United
States.

A Land Rover spokesman said, however, that the tests don’t mean the diesel versions
of these SUVs will be definitely marketed in the United States.
