A push-button electric slide-out deck has been introduced by King of the Road on the
majority of its 2003 Royalite and Crown Marquis highline fifth-wheel trailers. The
slide-out deck completely retracts under the fifth-wheel in the travel mode. It extends to
a width of almost 6 feet, and comes in lengths of 8 feet, 9 feet or 11 feet, depending on
the model.
When extended, it is completely covered by an A&E WeatherPro electric
awning. King of the Road General Manager Brian Henn, who designed the concept, has applied
for a patent on his invention and is having an outside company manufacture the deck for
King of the Road. ÒEveryone wants the latest and greatest innovation in the RV industry.
“This has got to be the greatest innovation since the inception of slideout rooms” said
Andy Bouchard, national sales manager for the York, Nebraska-based company.
