Jayco Inc. believes it has created a new market niche with the recent introduction of its
Qwest Baja folding-camper series that is designed to endure the pounding delivered by
uneven, unpaved backroads.
The Baja can be hitched to an SUV or towed behind a pickup
loaded with off-road toys. The rig is custom-designed to allow for extra clearance with
15-inch aluminum wheels, all-terrain tires, and a rugged suspension and frame.
Rear
stabilizer jacks also are equipped with sand pads to accommodate the extended ground
clearance. Truck-style rubber fenders, a steel rear bumper and mud flaps offer additional
protection from severe road conditions. Diamond plating wraps the front and rear, including
a railed front deck for storage. Heavy-duty shock absorbers cushion road impact to protect
the Baja interior, which is fashioned after the floorplan for Jayco’s Qwest 10B camping
trailer.
Jayco Inc. is located in Middlebury, Indiana.
