Isuzu Recalls Trooper SUVs

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

Japan’s Isuzu Motors Ltd. said it recalled more than 18,000 of its 2000 and 2001
four-wheel-drive Troopers in the United States after crash tests resulted in fuel leaks.

Isuzu says it’s received no reports of accidents, injuries or deaths caused by the defect.

The automaker said it recalled 13,273 of the 2000 models and 5,187 of the 2001 models after
a study found that 40-mph frontal crash tests caused fuel lines to separate and leak. Isuzu
engineers corrected the problems and subsequent crash tests did not cause leaks.

If owners
of vehicles believed to be part of the recall don’t receive a mailed notice, they should
contact their Isuzu dealer.
