GMC Presents Crossover SUV

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

The all-new Acadia is GMC’s first crossover SUV, with a smooth, responsive car-like driving
experience. Sharing styling cues with GMC’s other SUVs, Acadia’s design is accented with
prominent projector beam headlamps (HID lamps are available), distinctive LED taillamps and
a rear spoiler. Acadia’s interior can be configured for seven or eight passengers and
offers three rows of seating, with the third row capable of comfortably seating adults,
while still providing plenty of storage. The second- and third-row seats fold flat and a
covered rear cargo center allows items to be stored out of sight. Power for the new
crossover SUV comes from GM’s 3.6L V-6 VVT (variable valve timing) that is rated at 267 hp
and 247 lb-ft of torque. A fuel-saving six-speed automatic transmission feeds the power
into either front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive. Acadia can tow up to 4,500
pounds when properly equipped. Optional and standard equipment includes stability control,
traction control, tire-pressure monitoring, ultrasonic parking assist, extended-range
remote starting system, a navigation system, OnStar and Bose 5.1 Surround Sound. Pricing
has not yet been announced.
