General Motors is recalling approximately 100,000 SUVs in 20 northern states and the
District of Columbia, due to corrosion in latches on the back-seat doors. This could allow
the doors to pop open while the vehicle is moving.
The recall involves 2002-03 models of
the Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL, and the 2003 Isuzu Ascender.
The states
involved include the following: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine,
Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New
York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Washington
D.C.
The recall is expected to begin during January 2006.
