General Motors has temporarily halted shipments of Chevrolet Express and Silverado, GMC
Suburban, Sierra, Savana and Yukon XL and W4 trucks, due to problems with the automatic
transmissions.
The transmission recently underwent a design change that caused a problem
with overdrive gearset bearings, which may not receive any lubrication. GM said the problem
could affect as many as 25,000 vehicles.
