General Motors is recalling approximately 597,000 of its large sport-utility vehicles
because passengers are getting their fingers pinched in the seats. The vehicles include the
2000-2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon and Denali SUVs; longer versions of
the same vehicle aren’t affected.
GM reported that 14 people have pinched their fingers in
a slit in the seats when folding down headrests in the second-row seat. GM will install
plastic protectors free of charge. Owners who have not received notices should contact
their dealers.
